Today, more than ever, we are called to stand in solidarity with Indigenous peoples who are being disproportionately harmed by continued extractive policies and practices of our dominant culture and now, the recent devastating cuts in U.S. government funding. “We have already witnessed unbelievable rollbacks on our civil liberties, human rights, and environmental and climate justice laws and policies that we fought so hard for.,” shared Bryan “Lucas” Parras (@HighTechAztec). “As tens of thousands lose their jobs, many more are losing hope that they will ever live a life free of oppression in the United States of America. In moments like this, information is power. We must stay connected, share knowledge, and work together to change the tide.”

Continuing to Support Indigenous Education Amid Funding Cuts

Since 2021, Tribal Trust Foundation has engaged stakeholders and formed partnerships to collaborate in supporting education and the building of a school for San children, to both preserve their ancestral traditions and integrate contemporary teachings to meet the modern world. We are now receiving urgent reports from the field, that recent USAID cuts have abruptly ended education for many San children—threatening not just their future, but the preservation of their culture and ancestral wisdom.

This is yet another example of why the Tribal Trust Foundation’s collaborations with the San people are critical: to continue Indigenous education for the children amid times of change. Please support the continued education of the San youth by MAKING A DONATION TODAY.
