Happy Mother’s Day!

I frequently sign off my correspondence with the message “best wishes.”  Wishing followed by action can fulfill dreams.  I learned from an early age to make a wish when I blew out candles on my birthday cake and whenever I saw a seed head of a dandelion. My wishes were always sacred to me and gave me hope. Today I invite you to make a collective wish for Mother Earth. All of us have challenges in life, some of us more than others. May we learn from indigenous wisdom how to live in harmony with nature and each other to restore Mother Earth.

Following is a short video produced by TTF featuring a young Native American girl who lives on the Pine Ridge (Oglala Lakota Indian Reservation located in South Dakota). I have had the honor of spending time with TaMya Two Crow and her wonderful family, and consider her to be one of the future wisdom-keepers of the next generation of native youth. In the film, TaMya’s secret wish is revealed. This heartwarming footage was masterfully filmed by Gilbert Salas and edited by Randy Redroad. As indigenous film makers, they are proud of this piece, expressing, “it’s really emotional with a touch of magic.”

WISDOM WEAVINGS

Our wish for you is that these words of wisdom inspire you!

“When we connect with our ancestors and put their wisdom into action, we are evolving our collective consciousness. We are transporting the ancient truths of our collective past and birthing them into our future. What we create out of those truths extends the wisdom of all those who have gone before us, and it provides a guide for all those who will follow.”
